Los Angeles County Building and Safety/City of Industry City Hall services are open to the public. Plan Check submittal and permit issuance are available Monday-Thursday from 8:00AM through 11:30AM. Please plan your visits accordingly to prevent any Permits/Plan Check delays within the 8:00AM through 11:30AM timeframe. Please keep in mind, Staff is obligated to close City Hall from 12:00PM through 1:00PM; as a result, you may be asked to return on a different date for Permits and Plan Check services. All projects that require Plan Check from Los Angeles County Building and Safety will need to submitted online using the Los Angeles County Building and Safety submittal portal (directions below).

Online Submittal Portal - Los Angeles County Building and Safety
Prior to submitting online please contact the City of Industry's Los Angeles County Building Department.
- Planning Department Approval is needed prior to Plan Check. Please visit the City's Planning Department page for more information on their online submittal process.
- Contact Tan Phan - Plan Checker, via phone 626-333-2211 ext. 174 or email TPHAN@dpw.lacounty.gov.
- All Plan Check will be submitted online on the Los Angeles County Portal. The instructions to submit are available via: (Online Plan Check Submittal Instructions). Plans for building, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing can be submitted through the portal available via: https://dpw.lacounty.gov/bsd/bsop/. Please contact Monica Ornela - Permit Technician by phone at 626-333-2211 ext. 118 or by e-mail at DevServ3@cityofindustry.org if you have any questions on submitting online.
- Please keep in mind that after an initial review by the City’s Plan Check Engineer you may be referred to submit Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical plans to the Los County office in Alhambra for a formal review.
Obtaining a Building Permit. Permit issuance is available Monday-Friday.
- Once Plans are approved by the Plan Check Engineer, please contact to the Permit Technician, Monica Ornela, via phone 626-333-2211 ext. 118 or email Devserv3@cityofindustry.org to obtain permit(s) and total fees.
- Please keep in mind that a Licensed Contractor must pull the permit (B General License or C License specific to the work). Contractors will need to provide the following:
- Contractor's License
- Form of Identification (Government Issued ID)If the individual pulling the permit is not the contractor, a California Notarized Letter from the contractor authorizing said person to act on their behalf along with the information above.

Building and Safety Submittal Requirements:
For your reference, please review the submittal requirements below to ensure your submittal is complete and to prevent any delays:
Plan Check Submittal:
- 2 Sets of Plans
- Building Applications (Building Application, Electrical Application, Mechanical Application, Plumbing Application)
- Please contact or Eduardo Manriquez or Monica Ornela regarding Plan Check fees. Please keep in mind all Plan Check fees are determined by the Plan Checker Engineer.
- Plan Check fees will be payable by check (Please make all checks payable to 'City of Industry') or by credit card in person at City Hall.
Pulling a Permit:
- Please contact Monica Ornela for the issuance of all permits. Please have your Permit Number, Property Address with Project Description ready prior to calling.
- Please keep in mind that a Licensed Contractor must pull a permit (B General License or C Licenses specific to the work). Contractors will need to provide the following:

Requesting an Inspection
- Please email your inspection request to inspections@cityofindustry.org or call 626-333-2211 Ext. 118 at least one day prior to desired date of inspection.
- When calling or emailing for an inspection have the address, permit number, type of inspection, and site contact info ready.
