Excavation Permit/Encroachment Permit:

Required for all utility work within public right of way. This work includes: installing, maintaining, repairing utility services, and traffic control within public right of way. Excavation/Encroachment Permits require an inspector to verify that all new structures, backfills, sidewalk replacement, traffic control and other improvements have been properly constructed and installed in accordance with City Standards.  All Excavation permits require the appropriate contractor’s license and insurance which must be obtained prior to permit issuance. A Right-of-Way Agreement is also required to utilize the public right-of-way.
