Projects
We are working on expanding our electrical service network where it benefits the community. Here are some projects around the city of Industry that are making a difference for our businesses and residents.
Industry Metrolink PV-1 Solar Project:
The City of Industry developed the Industry Metrolink PV-1 Solar project in 2012 and now sells the power it generates (<2 Megawatts) to Southern California Edison. The solar project sits on 12 acres of an existing 14 acre Industry owned Metrolink parking lot at 600 Brea Canyon Road.
Waddingham Way Substation Project:
The IPU owns and operates a 66kV/12kV Substation facility located at 208 Waddingham Way in the City of Industry. The Substation is anticipated to receive 10 MW of customer load upon the completion of the SCE 12kV connection switch over, with the load growing an additional 30MW as the Industry Business Center development is completed.
COMPLIANCE
The Renewable Energy Procurement Plan was written to help the City meet California’s Renewable Portfolio Standard.
